Adult Sunday School

Each Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m., we offer excellent Sunday school classes for the adult community. The purpose of Sunday school at Oak Hills is to teach the impact of the gospel in a community setting. This means four things:

First, each class is a teaching community. Through teaching and prayer participants are personally and corporately called to respond to the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Second, each class is a welcoming community. Leaders and participants of each class extend the welcoming heart of God, recognize and receive guests, and provide amenities to facilitate invitation, inclusion, and expectation of being met by the God of all grace.

Third, each class is an assimilating community. Our desire is that people would both connect and continue in the fellowship of the confessing Christian community.

Finally, each class is a mobilizing community. Participants in classes learn, but always unto the end of a worshipful response – a lifestyle of love, service, and outreach.

Thought of the week
What is Faith?—Numbers 13:26-14:9
What is faith? Martin Luther said, “Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.” John Piper put it this way, “Faith is the act of our soul that turns away from our own insufficiency to the free and all-sufficient resources of God… Faith cannot boast in human goodness or competence or wisdom, because faith focuses on the free, all-supplying grace of God. Whatever goodness faith sees, it sees as the fruit of grace.” Read Entire Thought
