A Culture of Invitation
Oak Hills is committed to being a place where everyone who enters this community
is looked in the eye, known by name and regarded with the dignity every
image-bearer of God deserves. Our invitation is simply “Come as you are. Taste
and see that the Lord is good.” No matter what your age or station of life,
there is a place for you at our church - a place for you to connect with the God
of grace and a people of grace in rich ways.
Saturday Nights At Borders
At various local bookstores, Oak Hills sponsors and leads a Friday evening
gathering devoted to addressing contemporary issues and worldviews in light of
God’s truth. Topics are very diverse—touching on issues such as comparative
religions, perfectionism, materialism, loneliness, fear and anxiety, stress,
corporate life, marriage, parenting, being single, time and money, and several
other topics that are relevant to the average Kansas City person. Anyone is
welcome to participate—so come, grab a cup of coffee and join the discussion!

Campus Friendly
While we are committed to bring the grace of God to bear on every generation and
in the lives of people from every station in life, we also recognize the unique
challenges of transition from campus life into life in the "real world." For
this reason, we have taken steps to provide an atmosphere in which college
students and especially recent college graduates can assimilate into the life of
the church with ease and with plenty of opportunities for friendship and
involvement. It is our desire to ensure that this often under-utilized portion
of the body of Christ is invited into the center of the life of our church
family. For more info on our heart for college and post-college men and women,
contact our office.
Church Planting
How do you keep an alive local church from becoming ingrown? We believe the best
way is through the planting of more like-minded churches. Jesus calls His
children to be "fishers of men" and not merely "keepers of the aquarium!" With
this vision, we are committed to "church planting."

At Oak Hills we envision so many people in Kansas City coming alive to the love of God that His presence is felt in every aspect of our society.
We envision training and investing spiritually in people of every stripe: doctors, lawyers, business people, artists, students, street cleaners and construction workers, to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to bear on, and within, their spheres of influence.
Our responsibility is to “remember the poor,” meaning both the physical and spiritual poor. Our witness to Kansas City will be incomplete if we do not proactively seek to embody the grace and love of God among the weak, the guilt ridden, the helplessly selfish, the poor, the immoral, and other people groups typically marginalized by religious subcultures.
We are called to bring the merciful presence of Christ to people whether or not they recognize Him as Lord.
