Our most glorious and eternal calling

Worship of the Living God is our primary calling both as Christians and as members of Oak Hills Presbyterian Church. We believe that it is the privilege of every believer to worship the Living God, and that all ministry and service flows from that worship. We are committed to biblical teaching in worship, as well as the creative expression of our praise. We believe God is glorified through diversity and creativity as we combine traditional and contemporary music, dance and other biblically sanctioned art mediums.

Whatever the form may be, it is our desire that the King of Grace be worshiped in spirit and in truth, through a lifestyle of complete submission of all our nature to His. We also believe that as we worship the Lord, He uses us to reach out to others. Our church body is richly blessed with musical and artistic talent, and we gladly share that with those around us.

We want to give of our best by rehearsing, planning, and thinking through the specifics of each service, eliminating distractions. Removing the hurdles of "bad" music, clumsy segues, and "loose" group dynamics allows the congregation to worship without being distracted by scrutinizing such things and frees them to enter into worship unencumbered.

Therefore, it is the mission of our worship ministry to encourage believers to live out the worship of God, not only through the music of our Sunday services or the liturgy of the day, but in lifestyles that reach out beyond the walls of our local assembly. We are eager to see people from all stages of the spiritual journey come to connect with the God in whose image they have been created. It is not our interest to alienate those who are seeking the Living God, but rather to provide a weekly occasion for an accessible encounter with His holiness, beauty, truth, and grace.

"Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!" (Psalm 150, NIV)
