Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion

  1. Read Mark 5:21-43. How are Jairus and the woman vastly different? What do they have in common?
  2. What do we learn about Jesus in this story? How does this connect with the previous two stories (4:35-5:20)? What is the significance of Jesus calling the woman “daughter,” especially in connection with Jairus’ concern for his daughter?
  3. What is faith? How does the woman demonstrate/practice faith? What does faith look like for Jairus when he learns that his daughter has died (v. 36)?
  4. How does faith save us from illness and death now? Will we be free from all sickness? How does Christ save us from sickness and death?
