  1. Read Mark 6:1-13. How were the people of Nazareth astonished by the teaching of Jesus? What leads them to take offense at him? What does it mean that they took offense?
  2. In verse 4 Jesus seems to quote a well-known proverb of the ancient Greek philosophers. What does this proverb mean? What are some modern day examples?
  3. How can Jesus, the Son of God, be restricted by the people’s lack of faith? What are the signs of lacking faith, especially among these “religious” Jews?
  4. What stands out about the actions of the twelve as they are sent out by Jesus? What actions can we also practice? How can we follow Christ like the twelve?
