Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Galatians 4:21-31. What is the primary difference between the two sons of Abraham?
  2. How do the two women represent two covenants? What are those covenants?
  3. Abraham decided to rely on himself to make God’s promises come to pass. Have you ever done something similar? What were the results?
  4. In the story of Genesis 16, Sarah conspires with Abraham to rely on their own efforts to gain a son. Yet, Paul speaks of Sarah as the free woman, representing the Gospel of grace. How can Paul do this? How does Sarah’s experience comfort and excite you?

Memory Verse of the Week: Matthew 3:9 And do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. (ESV)
