Solus Christus: Confidence in Christ

  •  The Sufficiency of Christ’s Sacrifice
  • The Security of Christ’s Sacrifice
  • The Significance of Christ’s Sacrifice

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Hebrews 10:11-25. Why do the priests need to offer repeatedly the same sacrifices? If they were not effective, why did God even prescribe such an activity?
  2. Explain verse 14. What has Christ done? What is he doing?
  3. To what does the Holy Spirit bear witness to us? What is being affirmed in verses 16 & 17?
  4. In what does our confidence lie? What does this confidence lead us to do?
  5. If Christ is “sufficient,” why is there a command for stirring up one another (v. 24)? In other words, why do we need one another and the church if Christ is sufficient?

Memory Verse of the Week:

Hebrews 10:14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. (ESV)
