Soli Deo Gloria: The Chief End of Man
- God is Infinite
- We Are Limited
- All Things From, Through, and To God
- Therefore, To God Alone Be the Glory!
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Romans 11:33-36. Why does Paul break out into poetic doxology at this point in his letter to the Romans?
- What is Paul saying in verse 33? If God’s judgments and ways are “unsearchable” and “inscrutable,” how can we know anything about God? Look to 1 Corinthians 2:6-13 for help.
- Look up the two Old Testament verses in context: verse 34 – Isaiah 40:13; verse 35 – Job 41:11. What is Paul communicating by quoting these verses?
- How should we live in light of the truth of verse 36? In what areas are we prone to seek our own glory?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. (ESV)
