Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Psalm 127. Who wrote this psalm? What significant building projects did the author tackle? Why would he write this psalm?
- Do verses 1 & 2 encourage us to sit back and just wait and watch for the Lord to do his work? Why or why not?
- Compare this psalm with Matthew 16:13-18. Who builds the church? How?
- Why are we so tempted to take credit for success? In what ways do you work independently from the Lord?
- Verses 3-5 speak of one way God builds a family. These verses can be applied spiritually to the church. How so? How should the church look for the blessing of spiritual children?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. (ESV)
