- Read Mark 6:1-13. How were the people of Nazareth astonished by the teaching of Jesus? What leads them to take offense at him? What does it mean that they took offense?
- In verse 4 Jesus seems to quote a well-known proverb of the ancient Greek philosophers. What does this proverb mean? What are some modern day examples?
- How can Jesus, the Son of God, be restricted by the people’s lack of faith? What are the signs of lacking faith, especially among these “religious” Jews?
- What stands out about the actions of the twelve as they are sent out by Jesus? What actions can we also practice? How can we follow Christ like the twelve?
