  1. Read Mark 6:45-56. Why does Jesus “make” his disciples to get into the boat while he dismisses the crowd? What does he want to teach them?
  2.  Consider verse 46. What does this teach us about Jesus? What pattern are we to follow from this example?
  3.  Compare Jesus’ words in verse 50 with Deuteronomy 31:8, Joshua 1:9 (keep in mind that “LORD” in the OT reflects the name of God, “I am”). What is Jesus saying about himself?
  4.  What causes hardness of heart? In what ways is your heart hardened? How do we fight against this unbelief?
