  1. Read Colossians 2:6-7 and the surrounding context (2:1-15). What is Paul’s concern for the Colossian church, i.e. what was the danger they were facing? Do we face any sort of danger like this?
  2. How do the command and encouragements found in verses 6-7 help the Colossians to fight the “Colossian heresy”?
  3. Explain the grammar of the single sentence in verses 6-7. How does thanksgiving connect with our “walk” in the Lord? Why should thanksgiving be “natural” for Christians?
  4. Compare Colossians 2:6-7 with Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:9-12. What parallels are there? Why is it significant that Paul prays for what he commands?
