  1. Read Mark 9:42-50. Jesus uses the phrase “causes to sin” four times in verses 42-47. What are the causes of sin? In what ways do you see these in your life?
  2. In light of the cross, why does Jesus warn so strongly against sin? How can hell be a motivating factor for a Christian?
  3. What is Jesus highlighting with the salt metaphor in verses 49-50? What does it look like to have salt in yourself?
  4. What does it look like for you to fight sin? Specifically, in what ways do you cut off your hand, cut off your foot, and take out your eye?
