  1. Read Mark 10:32-45. How might the disciples not understand Jesus’ prediction of his death in Jerusalem?
  2. What are James & John asking for? Why would they make this request? In what ways do we “grab” at status and recognitions?
  3. Jesus highlights the “normal” approach to leadership and power in verse 42. What does this look like? What are some examples of this type of leadership? Why is this normal?
  4. What kind of leadership does Jesus extol in verses 43 & 44? What does this look like? What are some examples? How is this leadership style so “upside-down”?
  5. Explain the significance of verse 45. Why does any one’s life need to be “ransomed”?
