- Read Mark 10:32-45. How might the disciples not understand Jesus’ prediction of his death in Jerusalem?
- What are James & John asking for? Why would they make this request? In what ways do we “grab” at status and recognitions?
- Jesus highlights the “normal” approach to leadership and power in verse 42. What does this look like? What are some examples of this type of leadership? Why is this normal?
- What kind of leadership does Jesus extol in verses 43 & 44? What does this look like? What are some examples? How is this leadership style so “upside-down”?
- Explain the significance of verse 45. Why does any one’s life need to be “ransomed”?
