  1. Read Mark 12:35-40. What understanding of the Messiah is Jesus seeking to correct with his question regarding Psalm 110:1? What harm is there in a “lesser” understanding of the Christ?
  2. What implications and comfort can we derive from the reality of Christ’s reign on the throne?
  3. Why does Jesus command the people to “beware” of the scribes? What is the root problem with the scribes? How does a low view of Christ contribute to their sinfulness?
  4. In what ways are you tempted to think less of Jesus? How is this revealed in your life (or, what are the consequences in your life of holding to a lesser understanding of Christ)? What does repentance look like for you?
