Starting, Continuing, & Ending by Grace

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Galatians 6:11-18. What is the significance of verse 11? What does this reveal about Paul’s relationship with the Galatians and his heart behind writing the letter?
  2. Verses 12 & 13 provide a final summary of the position of Paul’s opponents at Galatia. In what do they boast? Or, in what do they place they confidence? Why is this futile?
  3. Verses 14-16 give Paul’s summary of the gospel position. What does the Christian boast in? How does this affect the Christian’s relationship with the world?
  4. Paul highlights in these verses many benefits that flow from the gospel of grace. What are these? Explain what it means to start by grace, continue by grace, and end by grace.

Memory Verse of the Week:
Galatians 6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (ESV)
