  • The Word’s Revelation of the Father
  • How Do We Behold Glory of the Only Begotten?
  • Abounding Grace for Us

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read John 1:1-18. What does John address here in the opening of his gospel? What does he want to achieve with this emphasis?
  2. John does not use the name “Jesus” until verse 17. What metaphors does he use to speak about Jesus? What is the import of these metaphors?
  3. How, or in what ways, does Jesus make known the Father?
  4. How do we “behold” the glory of Jesus, even though Jesus no longer dwells on earth?
  5. Explain verse 16. What comfort and joy do you glean from this verse?

 Memory Verse of the Week:

John 1:16 And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. (ESV)
