Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Hebrews 5:11-6:12. What makes this passage so difficult to understand? Are there any other passages in the Bible that may help clarify the meaning of this passage?
- In normal life, what are the signs of immaturity? What are the signs of spiritual immaturity? Why does the author call the Hebrews immature?
- Who is the person the author speaks about in verses 4-6? Explain using Scripture. How might the illustration in verses 7-8 help us understand verses 4-6?
- The word “sluggish” is the same word in 5:11 translated “dull.” How do we fight against dullness and sluggishness? In what are we to show earnestness?
- What are the marks of spiritual maturity? How does one progress is spiritual maturity?
