Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Colossians 1:3-14. For what does Paul give thanks to God?
  2. What does Paul reveal about the nature of the gospel in verse 6? What is the gospel?
  3. What words are repeated between the two paragraphs (v. 3-8 and v. 9-14)? What do these repetitions say about the gospel and what it does?
  4. Why does Paul pray for these things in verses 9-12 when they are promised in the gospel?
  5. What does gospel growth look like in your life? In our church? What do we do if we do not see growth?
