The Point in Writing a Letter
- The Point is…
- What Sort of High Priest Do We Have?
- What Difference Does This High Priest Make?
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Hebrews 8:1-7 and 10:32-36. What do we know about the recipients of this letter? Why does the author write the letter?
- What does the author emphasize when he says “we have such a high priest” (v. 1)? Review some of the highlights from Hebrews. What do we know about our high priest?
- What difference does having such a high priest make in your life?
- Review the commands we have heard so far in Hebrews (2:1, 3:1, 3:12, 4:11, 4:14 & 16, & 6:1). How do these commands help us understand the recipients of the letter? How do these commands minister to them? To you?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Hebrews 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. (ESV)
