Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

1. Read Jeremiah 17:5-18. Compare and contrast the two paths laid out by Jeremiah in this passage. What distinguishes the two paths? Is there a third path? Why or why not?
2. In what ways do you “trust in man” and make “flesh your strength”? Why do we have a tendency to do this?
3. What is Jeremiah trying to communicate in verse 9? How does this truth impact you and your life?
4. What is the hope for our “sick” heart? Consider Jeremiah 31:33, Ezekiel 36:26-27, and Psalm 119:9-11.
5. How does the Word of God feed our trust of God? What habits do you have in the Word? What new habit will you seek to cultivate in the new year?
