  1. Read Judges 8:1-35. What stands out to you from this chapter? How has Gideon developed since we first met him in chapter 6?
  2. What does Gideon want from Succoth and Penuel? Is it good for him to threaten these two cities? Why or why not?
  3. What do we learn about Gideon’s siblings from this chapter? How does this impact Gideon and his pursuit in this chapter?
  4. Why is Gideon’s response in verse 23 so good? How does his actions in verses 24-32 contradict his statement?
  5. Are there aspects of your life and work you think you should get more recognition and honor for? How will the gospel of grace help you deal with your successes?
