Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read 1 Corinthians 1:18-2:5. What is Paul addressing with the Corinthians? In other words, what false belief or practice is Paul confronting?
  2. Why is the “word of the cross” folly? In what manner is it “power”?
  3. Why does Paul ask us to “consider” our calling in verse 26? What does “boasting” have to do with our calling?
  4. What is Paul saying about his preaching in 2:2-4? Why was this important for his message?
  5. Does your faith rest “in the power of God”? What does this look like for you?
