Vision Refreshed

Life as the Body of Christ

  • The Body Composed According to God’s Will
  • The Diversity and Unity of the Body
  • The Same Care for One Another

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-26. How does Paul use the analogy of the “body”? In verse 12 he says, “so it is with Christ.” Why doesn’t he say, “so it is with the church”?
  2. Consider the statements of God’s actions in verses 18 and 24. What is God doing with Christians? How does this impact our view of the “church”?
  3. Is the church a “unity” or a “diversity”? Explain. How can it be both?
  4. Verses 25-26 give the purpose statement for God’s actions with the “body of Christ.” For what is God aiming? Where do you see this happening at Oak Hills? Where do we have room to grow?

Memory Verse of the Week:

1 Corinthians 12:18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. (ESV)
