Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Judges 19-21. What are the parallels with Genesis 19? How do the people of Israel fall into such a pitiful state?
- How is the hospitality of the old man in 19:16-21 a picture of God’s hospitality to us?
- How does Judges 20 compare with the practice of church discipline in the New Testament (see Matt. 18:15-20 & 1 Cor. 5)? What goes wrong in Judges 20?
- Compare these chapters with the early church described in Acts 2:42-47 and 4:32-37. What is different? Why? What makes the difference? How?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Ephesians 5:1-2 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (ESV)
