Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read John 1:1-18. Who is the “true light”? How does he give “light to everyone”?
- Who or what is the “world” in verse 10? Why did the “world not know him”?
- Who is “his own” in verse 11? Why did they not receive him? In what ways are you at risk of not receiving him?
- What does it mean to “receive him”? Do you receive Christ? What does this look like in your day to day life?
- Why is the right or privilege to become a child of God so significant? What are the benefits of being a child of God?
Memory Verse of the Week:
John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (ESV)
