John: That You May Believe
Seeking Genuine Worshipers
- Genuine Worship is About Salvation
- Genuine Worship is Through the Trinity
- Genuine Worship is Enabled by God
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read John 4:16-26. Why does the Samaritan woman bring up worship? When you share the gospel, what kind of diversions do others bring up? How do you respond to these diversions?
- What does Jesus mean that “salvation is from the Jews”? Why is this important in the discussion of worship?
- What does it mean to worship the Father “in spirit and truth”? How does this apply to our worship at Oak Hills?
- What do we learn about God (his nature, his activity, etc.) from these verses? How does this encourage you?
- How do you evaluate “good” worship? How might these verses reshape your evaluation?
Memory Verse of the Week:
John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. (ESV)
