- Exposing Weak Desires
- Exposing Weak Efforts
- Exposing Weak Heroes
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read John 6:22-35. Why is the crowd looking for Jesus? What do they want? Why are their desires too weak? Why do you seek Jesus? Are your desires weak?
- What is Jesus aiming to do in his interaction with the crowd? How does he pursue this aim?
- What is “the work of God”? In what way is this God’s work? Your responsibility?
- Why does the crowd bring up Moses and the manna? What do they want from Jesus? One commentator calls this the heresy of “moreism.” Why do we tend to long for more than what Jesus offers?
- What is the simple means to receive the Bread of Life? Do you receive the Bread of Life?
Memory Verse of the Week:
John 6:27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal. (ESV)
