Grace Extending to More
- A Powerful Treasure
- A Sustaining Treasure
- A Multiplying Treasure
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read 2 Corinthians 4:7-15. What does Paul want to communicate by using the metaphor “jars of clay”? Why does he use this metaphor?
- What is the “treasure”? Look back to verses 1-6. What is the power of this treasure?
- What is Paul communicating with the contrasting terms in verses 8-9? What sustains Paul? As followers of Christ, can we expect freedom from tribulation?
- Consider verse 15. What does grace do? How? Why?
Memory Verse of the Week:
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (ESV)
