True Disciples Abide

  1. Read John 8:31-38. What is freedom? What hinders freedom?
  2. What does Jesus mean by “true disciples”? Is this a second-tier Christian? Why or why not?
  3. What does it mean to abide in Jesus’ words? How are you doing in “abiding”?
  4. What is truth? How do we know truth? Why is truth connected with freedom?
  5. What sort of freedom is Jesus speaking about? How does his explanation in verses 34-36 help? Why is this freedom so important?
  6. Consider the crowds’ response in verse 33. In what ways are we just like this crowd?
