John: That You May Believe

This is the Way

  • The Way is Not Troubled
  • The Way is Abounding in Hope
  • Jesus is the Way

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read John 14:1-7. Why might the disciples be troubled at this point? Be sure to look back to John 13:36-38.
  2. Is Jesus a hypocrite (i.e. “Do as I say, not as I do”) when we compare 14:1 with 13:21? Explain.
  3. How do the truths of verses 2 & 3 bring hope and encouragement to believers?
  4. How is Jesus “the way”? How does his promised activity in verse 3 tie into this?
  5. Why is Jesus’ statement in verse 6 so exclusive? Why is there no other way?

Memory Verse of the Week:

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (ESV)
