1. Read John 15:12-17. Why does Jesus repeat this command that he gave in 13:35? Why is love for one another so important?
2. Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. As described here, in what ways do you love fellow Christians? In what areas are you weak?
3. Is Jesus speaking about us or himself when he speaks about laying down one’s life in verse 13? Explain.
4. How does Jesus’ love for us empower our love for others?
5. What is the purpose of Jesus’ choosing love (v. 16)? How is that purpose manifest in your life?
