Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read John 16:4-15. Why would Jesus say it is “advantageous” to his followers for him to depart? Why might we not believe or live like this is to our advantage?
  2. What is the convicting work of the Spirit? Is this gracious? Why or why not?
  3. What is the guiding work of the Spirit? Did the apostles experience this in a different way than we experience it? What place does Scripture have in the guiding work of the Spirit?
  4. What is the glorifying work of the Spirit? How does the Spirit glorify Christ to you?
  5. How is the Spirit working in your life? Give thanks for God’s gracious gift of the Spirit to you.
