Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Micah 7:1-20. Why does Micah open with a lament? In what ways could we express the same lament?
- In what ways is verse 7 an expression of faith? How is waiting on the Lord a part of faith?
- What hope or confidence does the prophet have in verses 8-17? How does the promise of God in verse 15 sustain Micah’s hope?
- For what does Micah adore God in verses 18-20? How has Micah witnessed God’s steadfast love? How have you witnessed God’s steadfast love?
- Why is it important that Micah mentions Jacob and Abraham in verse 20? What difference does this make for you and me?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Micah 7:18 Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. (ESV)
