Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

1. Read Genesis 5:1-32. Why does the Bible include genealogies? Can we find any encouragement from the inclusion of genealogies?
2. What stands out to you in the genealogy? Why?
3. How does this genealogy emphasis the curse of sin? How does it highlight the hope of God’s promise?
4. Lamech is the 7^th generation in Cain’s line (4:19-24). Enoch is the 7^th generation in Seth’s line. How do these two compare? What is the storyline teaching us?
5. Why is Lamech in Seth’s line (5:28-31) looking for rest? Do his actions/words in Scripture reflect faith? Why or why not?
