Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Genesis 6:1-8. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
- As we believe in the Holy Spirit inspiration of Scripture, what does the Holy Spirit want to teach us in this passage?
- Consider verse 5 in light of Ps. 51:5, Is. 59:7-8, Is. 64:6, Rom. 3:9-18, and Rom. 7:15-18. What does the Bible teach about human sin and depravity? How should this impact us, personally?
- Is God just to punish sin? Why or why not? Why do humans struggle with the concept of God’s wrath on sin?
- Consider verse 8 in light of the Reflection on page 3 in the bulletin. Why is it so important to hold to the undeserved nature of grace? Why is it so hard?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. (ESV)
