Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Genesis 6:9-22. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
- The passage goes to great lengths to emphasize the contrast between Noah and the rest of humanity. How are they different?
- The word “corrupt” in verse 12 is the same Hebrew word for “destroy” in verse 13. What is the significance of this? Take into consideration Galatians 6:7.
- How does God plan to rescue Noah and his family? How does this plan compare with God’s plan through Jesus Christ?
- Consider what the New Testament says about Noah in Hebrews 11:7 and 2 Peter 2:5. How does Noah’s faith and obedience mesh together? How do faith and obedience mesh in your life?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. (ESV)
