  1. Read Psalm 120. In brief, how do the collection of the 15 Psalms that make up the Psalms of Ascent (Song of Ascents) relate to us today?
  2. What is the psalmist’s distress? Have you ever been hurt or felt trapped by someone else’s negative words about you?
  3. What is the psalmist’s simple response to his distress? What is often your first response in moments of distress?
  4. Does God answer the psalmist’s prayer in the way you might expect? What is God teaching us to grasp about Himself and ourselves in how He answers here in Psalm 120?
  5. In what ways does Psalm 120 points us to Christ and the gospel?
