- God’s Sovereign Purposes
Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Genesis 27:1-45. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
- The prophecies/promises of Genesis 25:23 and 25:33 are important to the events of chapter 27. Why?
- Each of the four family members sin in this story. How? What motivates each of them in their sin?
- With which character do you identify from this story? In what ways are you prone to “not trust God” and “take matters into your own hands”?
- God’s plan was made known in Genesis 25:23. What does chapter 27 teach us about how God’s sovereignty works with human will and sinfulness?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (ESV)
