- Read Genesis 30:25-31:16. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
- Some have compared Jacob’s situation with Israel’s enslavement in Egypt. In what ways does Jacob need an exodus from Laban’s oppression? How does God operate in similar ways in both stories?
- What is injustice? How are Laban’s actions unjust in this scenario? What would it look like to “do justice” in this scenario?
- Is Jacob without sin in this exchange with Laban? In what ways does he still fall short?
- How is God sanctifying Jacob during this time with Laban? Why is God so gracious with sinful people like Jacob? Like you and me?
