Times of Refreshing

Eternal Refreshment

  • Refreshed by Judgment
  • Refreshed by Feasting
  • Refreshed by God

Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Isaiah 25:1-12. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
  2. Who are the “ruthless” mentioned in verses 3, 4, & 5? What will God do with the ruthless? Why is this good news or “refreshment” for the people of God?
  3. Verses 6 to 10a are bookended with the phrase “on this mountain.” What is in view in these verses? What is so special about the feast?
  4. What is the “reproach” in verse 8? How does God remove this reproach? What part does death have in this?
  5. Consider verse 9 and the role of God. How does God himself “refresh” his people? How do we receive that refreshment?

Memory Verse of the Week:

Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. (ESV)
