Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Romans 12:1-21. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
- Romans 12:1 is a great turning point in Paul’s letter to the Romans. He has unpacked the riches of the gospel in chapters 1-11. Now he turns to practical application. What is the connection between the Good News and practical obedience?
- Consider verse 5. How does our relationship with Christ impact our relationship with others in the church?
- Consider the command of verse 2, “do not be conformed to this world,” in connection with Hebrews 3:12-13. Why do we need the church community to fight conformity to the world?
- There are many interpersonal commands in verses 9-21. Identify the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in these commandments. Can one grow in the fruit of the Spirit without being in relationship with the church? Why or why not?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Romans 12:5 So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. (ESV)
