Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:

  1. Read Psalm 23:1-6. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
  2. What is the significance of the name “Lord,” especially as it relates to Moses and the burning bush (Ex. 3)? Why does David call him “my” Lord?
  3. What does Jesus as the Good Shepherd provide? What do we lack?
  4. What is the “valley of the shadow of death”? In what ways have you walked through this valley in your life? How does the presence of Jesus change these valleys?
  5. Verses 5 & 6 describe rich blessings for those who know Jesus as their shepherd. Why should the followers of Christ be the most joy-filled people?
