- Read 2 John. Who is the “elect lady and her children” that the Apostle John (The elder) is addressing? What sort of significance is there in John using this terminology?
- In the opening greeting, it is evident that a love for the truth is prominent. What beautiful things about the truth does John bring up? How might this differ from the way that the world often speaks of truth?
- What causes John to rejoice greatly? How should Christians think about God’s commandments? Is this how you often think of them? If not, why might that be?
- What does John command the church to do? From what context do these commands arise from?
- From 2 John, how would you explain in your own words what the gospel walk is and looks like? In what ways ought the gospel to transform and change the way you enter this next week?
