Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion:
- Read Genesis 34:1-31. What catches your attention from this passage? Why?
- Which of the Ten Commandments are violated in this chapter? How so? How do they know right from wrong at this point (v. 7), hundreds of years before Mt. Sinai?
- There is no mention of God in this chapter. What are the implications of that? How should have God been brought into the story?
- Read Deuteronomy 7:1-5. How does this help us understand how the covenant was threatened in Genesis 34?
- How is grace made known in this chapter? How does this chapter lead you to the grace of Christ?
Memory Verse of the Week:
Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. (ESV)
