  1. Read Luke 10:1-20. What did Jesus send the 72 out to do? What instructions/warnings did he give? How do they respond at the end of the mission?
  2. What is the source of the 72's joy in verse 17? How does Jesus respond to their joy? What is Jesus talking about in verses 18 & 19?
  3. Consider Psalms 95-100, Philippians 4:4, and 1 Thessalonians 5:16. Why is "rejoicing" commanded? How can God command an emotive action? How do we guide or lead or control our affections/emotions?
  4. Why is joy essential to faith? How can glorifying God and enjoying God both be the chief end of man?
