- Read Mark 15:33-47. Think about all of the events that led up to and occurred at the moment of Jesus’ death. As an outside observer at the cross (without the gospel-writer’s commentary) what would you notice?
- What is the significance of the people Mark focuses on in the responses to the death of Jesus? What message does Mark want to communicate?
- In what ways are the centurion, the women, and Joseph different in their reasons for being devoted to Jesus? How are they similar?
