Questions for Further Study or Group Discussion

  1. Read Psalm 145. What does David aim to do in this Psalm? What does it mean that David was “triumphed by God”? What evidence from this Psalm demonstrates that David is “God-besotted”?
  2. Why does David include “all flesh” (v. 21) in his efforts to praise God? How does he do this?
  3. What about God has captured the gaze of David? How does this “triumph” of God’s grace shape and sanctify David?
  4. Explain what John Piper means when he says, “God’s grace triumphs through joy in a believer’s life.” How do we see this in Psalm 145? How do you see it in your life?
