  1. Read Luke 18:1-8. Why does Luke give the introduction he does in verse 1? How does the parable accomplish this stated purpose?
  2. In what ways are we like and unlike the widow? In what ways is God like and unlike the judge? How does this story encourage us to not lose in heart in prayer?
  3. What does Jesus promise in verse 7 & 8? How do you understand the mysterious concluding sentence in verse 8? What does faith have to do with prayer?
  4. What has helped you become persistent in prayer? What hinders persistent prayer?
