  1. Read Isaiah 52:13-53:12. Consider the use of the word “many” in this passage. What does Isaiah say about the “many”? How is the “many” related to the first person pronouns and “my people” (v. 8) and “his offspring” (v. 10)?
  2. Consider the questions in 53:1 in light of John 12:37-43. What does this teach us about who the “many” are? What’s significant about them?
  3. Considering all that the Servant of the Lord does for the “many” in Isaiah 53, do you think this is a definite group of people? Why or why not?
  4. How does understanding the work of the Servant on behalf of the “many” energize evangelism and missions? Consider Jesus’ teaching in John 10:7-18.
